Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PPRC) Executive Director Arch. Deogracias J. Tablan Jr. briefs members of the media attending the launching of the Jose Capadocia Civic Journalism Environmental Forum at the National Press Club recently on the various rehabilitation activities being undertaken by the agency to bring back the quality of the Pasig River, among which is the dredging of contaminated sediments from the river bed which the media had the opportunity to witness during an on-site inspection following the launching ceremony. According to Tablan, the dredging project, which is already 80% complete, is being implemented by the PRRC with its Belgian contractor Baggerwerken Decloedt en Zoon.
